Why I do this work

What drew me to the therapy world was a deep desire to reach those who often feel dismissed, or believe that therapy isn’t for them. I wanted to create a space for people to be seen, heard, and supported, especially those who face stigmas around seeking help.

My mission is to be a visible representative of my community in the mental health field, and to actively challenge the stigma that discourages so many from seeking the support they deserve. I am deeply committed to providing care and understanding to individuals impacted by depression, anxiety, generational trauma, suicidal ideation, perfectionism, relationship struggles, addiction and life transitions, . Helping them navigate the complex ways it shapes their identity and sense of self.

Therapy allows me to connect with others on a personal, emotional, and spiritual level and that is what inspires me to continue this journey, not just as a career, but as a lifelong commitment.

Approach to therapy

My approach to therapy emphasizes the deep connection between the mind and body, recognizing how they work together in shaping our emotions and experiences. I strive to create a warm, positive, and inviting atmosphere in every session, where authenticity is celebrated. By showing up as my true self, I encourage my clients to do the same, fostering a space where they can feel safe, seen, and supported.

I am committed to providing a lifetime of safe, non-judgmental spaces for people to process their emotions and navigate life’s challenges. My therapeutic style is flexible and collaborative, tapping into a variety of modalities to tailor the approach to each client’s unique needs and preferences. My ultimate goal is to empower individuals on their journey toward healing and growth.

Education

I am currently completing my Master’s in Social Work at the University of Texas, building on my academic foundation and passion for mental health. I hold a postgraduate in Addiction and Mental Health, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Toronto.

Personal

When I’m not immersed in academia, work, or internship, I cherish spending time with my loved ones and engaging in activities that nourish my soul. Whether it’s having deep, meaningful conversations with family and friends or using laughter as a way to cope with life’s challenges, I believe in finding joy in the little things. I often find myself outdoors, taking time to reflect on the overwhelming beauty and intricacy of nature.

I’m also constantly exploring the depths of the human mind and soul, learning more about how they connect, which helps me stay in tune with myself and grow as a professional. I’ve always enjoyed creative outlets, and right now, crocheting has become my latest passion. It’s my go-to way to relax and get lost in something simple yet fulfilling.
