Our values
creativity
We believe that we are all born makers and we empower clients to embrace their inner child whenever possible whether it be through art, music, food, dance, and writing. We believe in the power of curiosity and exploration within your story in an effort to practice vulnerability and cultivate joy.
courage
We believe in crafting hope from fear and silencing the inner critic while raising the volume on the inner badass. We believe that if we can learn to trust ourselves and practice more stillness, we will find that our body is our home and we are in fact, sitting in the driver's seat.
diversity
We believe in safety, connection and emotional trust. We believe in common humanity and that we are all in this together. We believe in celebrating differences and practicing authenticity even when it's messy.
Equity
We believe in systems and places that honor, value and uplift all the intersecting identities that one person holds. With those identities come lived experiences that may be rooted in oppression and resistance. We do not tolerate any forms of hate, racism or discrimination.
Access
We believe in reducing the barriers that exist when it comes to mental health support and to provide high-quality clinical services to all regardless of race, gender, and/or socioeconomic status.
VULNERABILITY
We believe in the power of vulnerability. We believe that healing comes when you are able to share your story with someone who has earned the right to hear it.
We believe
Colors of Austin Counseling believes the journey towards self-acceptance requires setting healthy boundaries with yourself. We know perfectionism is a gremlin that can dominate our minds and lives, and when we can get curious about those gremlins we have the power to take ownership of our story moving forward.
We are part of the Inclusive Therapists Community.
Our practice is social justice-oriented, in action, not simply ideologically.
We understand the difference between being anti-racist and "not racist,” and actively participate in dismantling white supremacy in the mental health field.
We desire to learn, be challenged, heal, and to show up imperfectly yet teachable in community.
We desire to participate in advocacy and activism work to advance mental health justice.
